Slingers continued their impressive start to the season with a 9 pin victory over Milborne Woodman at the Trinity Club on Thursday night.
Martin Green was top for the home side with 62, while A.Brown was top for the Milborne side with 61.

Plodders started well with hands of 61, 62 & 58 to go 17 ahead after 3 hands, spares of 13 & 14 from Barrie Andrews.Skimmers pulled 5 back on the 4th. Plodders early form deserted them over the last three hands as they finished with scores of 42, 45 & 46 leaving Skimmers to run out winners by 16 pins.

Gophers won by 39 pins away to Funseekers at the Trinity Club last night.
Their two star men were Jason Wilkinson who hit 64 and Simon Hewer who was top score with 67
Top score for the home side was Graham Wye with 59.

In a close game that never had more than 4 pins in it meant that it could have gone either way. However it was The Fishermen's 64 on the last hand that was the best hand of the night who were the eventual winners of this game.
 
Martin Bedford (The Vicar) topped for the Thatchers hitting 55 with Adam Drewitt (The Stig) unfortunately having an OxO hitting 35.
 
Top score for the Fishermen was A "Rosie" Rosewall showing his Blackthorn class hitting 60.

A win for Colliton Bloomers who now go into the first round of the Cup after beating Section B team Westenders on the Bloomers home alley 2 at the Colliton Club.
 
A 51 first hand from the Bloomers following a 41 gave the Bloomers a 10 pin lead which they added to by winning every hand, even gaining 1 pin on their lowest hand of 49 on the 3rd hand.  A 60 hand against a 48 hand in the 4th put the game beyond doubt.  Both teams saved their best to last - Westenders 59 and Bloomers 62.
 
Top score for the Westenders S Dickson 51, while coming out of semi retirement veteran Bloomer Betty Childs hit 56. 
 
Devils beat Crazy Ladies

Crazy Ladies 352 Colliton Devils 378 (Ladies Cup)

Colliton Devils won through to the 1st round of the cup after beating Crazy Ladies at the Trinity Club in the preliminary round.
The home side got off to a good start hitting a 56 hand and the Devils reply was 49 to trail by 7 pins, the home side pulled 1 more pin on the next hand 57 to 56.
A low 43 hand from Crazy Ladies gave the Devils a chance and a 52 hand by the Colliton team put them 1 up. Devils pulled 4 more pins on the next hand 48 to 52.
The game looked over on the fifth hand as the Trinity side hit a 37 hand and Devils replied with a 59 hand helped with a 12 stick up from Kate Taylor to go 27 pins up.
But Crazy Ladies put in the best hand of the night on the sixth hand hitting 64 with a 15 from A Cartmell, while Devils hit 47 to leave just 10 between the teams.
Crazy Ladies were unable to put any pressure on the devils on the last hand hitting 47 and the Devils hit their best hand of the night a 63 hand with a 12 from Emma Fagg to win by 26 pins.
Top score for the home side was Mari Fowler with 53, while Emma Fagg was top for Devils.  

Section A fixtures

The big match in Section A takes place on Thursday when the top two Wide Boys and 3CA meet at the Colliton Club on alley 2, also on Thursday in a match brought forward a day Marco Wanderers host The Imps, both sides are on 6 points like the top two. Milborne Woodman who last week beat Marco face a tough match away to Slingers at the Trinity Club on Thursday night.
On Friday unbeaten Breakaways host the Patriots at Wool, while at the Bladen Club Puddletown Wanderers take on Brewers Bees, who are still searching for their first win. In town on Friday night Allsorts play Colliton Spares at the Bull's Head, which should be a high scoring game, while Plodders have a difficult match away to Skimmers at the Gurkha Inn. Dewlish Monsters have their bye.
